Alessandra Argenti

Alessandra Argenti

Alessandra, born in Italy, is a TV producer and a filmmaker.

She defines herself as a ‘video activist’: she envisions multimedia as a tool to empower, educate, connect and inform people around the world.

She is specialized in digital storytelling and PV (participatory video) as action research methodologies to use inside and outside the classroom. Her methods value local knowledge, build bridges between communities and decision-makers, and enable people to develop greater control over the decisions affecting their lives.

Alessandra has won several awards with her PVs and has an educational background in educational sciences, digital technologies and education and she has been living in East Africa since 2006.

In 2007 she founded in Nairobi the organization Cultural Video Foundation, working with EU and UN agencies in national behavioural change campaigns, mobile cinemas, TV and radio productions.

In 2015 she moved to Dar Es Salaam where she started working for AzamTV, bringing her knowledge and skills into an innovative ‘edutainment’ perspective.

She believes that Tanzania is full of talent and possibilities and many stories are still waiting to be told.

“Film for change” is a motto that can easily fit Alessandra.
