Thato Kgatlhanye

When Thato saw the children in her community in South Africa carrying their books in simple plastic bags that would rip easily and were not sustainable, she decided to step up and change something. She started to take the bags and repurpose them, making them more durable and environemntally friendly. What started small turned, through her ambition and hard work, into a factory with 8 full time employees who have collected and repurposed 4000 bags up to today. Thato’s factory uses clean energy in the form of solar panels to make the project even more sustaniable.
